1.The following are ways of of employing ear training for aural recognition of triads and seventh chords:
(a) Listening to pre-recorded audio or videos of triads and seventh chords and watch videos on how triads are identified.

2. The following are the challenges faced by students during aural training sessions:
(a)Not doing enough individual practice.
Most students do not take time to do individual practice before the aural training sessions. Practice is important because repetition of the sounds of chords enhances the ability of the student to identify the chords. Therefore class training sessions are not enough for a student to adequately train on the identification of chords.
(b) Wrong registration of pitches.
Some student at the start of the aural train sessions may be tone deaf thus they might not register the correct pitches. Therefore they will not be able to identify the correct chords.
(c) Lack of practicing Inversions.
Most students tend to just practice the chords in root position therefore it becomes a bit of a challenge to identify chords if the chords are inverted.
(d) Not being familiar with intervals.
Some students do not do through aural practice of intervals. As a result it becomes a challenge to identify the chords since they are made up three notes with intervals or a third apart.
(e) Lack of practicing chord harmonically
Some students are able to identify chords melodically and not harmonically. This maybe because they do not practice the chords harmonically.
