I discussed with Icks about his proposal and advised that your proposal should have three chapters: 1, 2 & 3.  Chapter 2, should be literature review, theoretical framework and conceptual framework. Chapter 3 should be Research Methodology. Read in my blue book about theoretical framework and conceptual framework. The attached article by Philip Tagg will help you to understand what theory means in music studies so that you can apply in your proposal. Icks has made great improvement but I have not heard from Chitechi. Chitechi, send me your proposal for correction as soon as possible. See attached.
